Tony Flot named Kings GM
The 2021 APDFL National Champion Crescent City Kings have added a major addition to their front office arsenal. The Kings ownership group have landed sports industry veteran Claude “Tony” Flot as their new General Manager for the 2022 season. Tony Flot comes to the organization with 12 years of sports & entertainment experience between the New Orleans Pelicans/Saints; Super Bowl XLI Host Committee; and (4) NBA All-Star games. Prior to joining the Kings as GM, he served as head of football operations for the Louisiana Lightning professional development football team where he also played cornerback for 3 seasons. He is a graduate of St. Augustine High School, and also attended Southern University in Baton Rouge where he also marched in the band before earning a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy.
Flot will oversee business relations and player development, amongst other roles. “I am happy to finally have Flot in the Kings family after all these years. I’ve had my eyes on him and his ability to manage players and an entire football program for a long time. He will definitely help to take our program to the next level”, says Kings Head Coach, Frederick Washington. The players and coaching staff share their excitement in the addition. Tony Flot says, “I’ve always admired the Kings organization and the heart, and aggression that the players play with year in and year out. This is an amazing opportunity for me to join an already successful program and do whatever I can to ensure long lasting success. I can’t wait to get to work”.
The Kings began OTA’s for the 2022 season in early October as they look to repeat as National Champions of the APDFL, one of America’s top minor league football leagues. The APDFL includes numerous former NFL and NCAA athletes, and recently graduated high school athletes looking to land collegiate opportunities.
